Hi,
We are Ramu Shamu.
Ramu Shamu is a South Asian fashion brand fully focused on sustainability. We curate pre-loved items and leftover fabrics, when necessary, we revamp them into something new. We are based in The Netherlands and we design and curate items by celebrating our roots from South Asia and South America.
We sell pre-loved items in original state and also pre-loved revamped items designed by Ramu Shamu Studio.
All items are sold in one specific size, one piece per item.
Ramu Shamu Studio
Ramu Shamu Studio is a one of a kind collection. From pieces nobody else owns to collaborations with fellow South Asian creators.
Our design process derives from an amalgamation of three cultures: Indian, Surinamese and Dutch. Which makes each piece unique.

Offset by Shopify
An environmentally-friendly business that invests in sustainability initiatives to counteract the environmental impact of shipping.
Every month, Offset calculates the total emissions generated by our shipped orders, and that number becomes our monthly Offset cost. Our Offset payments go towards forest protection initiatives.
Offset works with Pachama and contribute to certified projects, complying with the best-in-class carbon offset protocols and standards.
We can see the total amount of shipping emissions we’ve offset and the environmental impact benefit of those offsets, including how many trees we've paid to protect. We will share these environmentally-friendly statistics with you regularly.
Garment care
We curate each item carefully and clean everything thoroughly but we can not guarantee that there’s absolutely no trace of the previous owner. South Asian clothes can be very delicate and sensitive therefore we ask you to give the items a little bit more love than you usually would.
How to clean each piece
It's highly recommended to get all traditional garment from Ramu Shamu professionally cleaned by your local dry cleaner. If that's not possible, we share some cleaning tips on each product page under 'Garment care'.
